TIMOTHY YOUNG

Timothy Young, from Chicago, Illinois, is best known for his work as composer, singer, and guitarist for the chamber pop project, Passerines. He has done work for and collaborated with Screen Door Productions (LA, CA), the Bitchin’ Bajas, Quinn Tsan, Exit Ghost, and Zeshan Bagewadi.

"The inspiration for this music comes from the observation of two contrasting solos performed by Edgar Meyer on a piece of music titled, 'Helping Hand.' One comes from a live studio recording, and the other an album studio recording.

The composition is structured around a stark contrast between a straightforward melodic progression to spaciously ambiguous rhythmic and textural moments. The music attempts to elude the listeners expectations as it flows through consonant and dissonant spaces and relationships." - TY
